Well as the topic name says. I have used the updater and the patcher and it seemed to work fine but I didn't get the l2 ini file decoded.

So here is my question , is there anyone that can either send me a private message or post it here step by step giude on how to decode the l2 .ini file and then recode it? For us less command inclined individuals?

All I am trying to do is set the zoom mode to be more than it is now and nothing more. Although if anyone knows what the max distance number is I would also appreciate the information as well.

Thank you in advance. And sorry about the mispelled topic, I wish I could say it was intentional but it was not. All I can say is it is early morning here and I work nights so just moments away from bed and not the most mentaly alert at the moment.

And what exactly did you expect to hear ? There's USAGE file in the archive - sure, I can repeat the same stuff that's written there using different set of words and sentences. It won't be any more clear though. L2encdec isn't really difficult tool - it uses one (in rare case of l2j-vn server - two) command switch, source file name and optional destination file name.

If you ever used DOS, or any imaginable brand/version of UNIX, or just did a tiny bit of administration under any windows (which sooner or later would make you use console in one or the other way, potentially with some decent text based file manager) - then using tool like l2necdec is trivially straightforward.

If a console is black magic for you, then you have two options - 1) learn what it is and how to use it, or 2) wait until I make clickable gui with big button "convert them all", which is unlikely to happen, if ever.

Himred gave up and did gui version, it won't be that easy with me. I might do some installer to just get people going with nude stuff and some mods. Chances that tools like l2disasm will see their life in gui version, are effectively 0.

As for zoom - 65535 will give you distance with which you can easily hit skybox, iirc.

User.ini is still accepted in plain text by L2, for some reason, so it should simplify what you want to do.
