View Full Version : Model Export?
Is there a way to export the models and textures for use in 3d studios?
If so, then how?

I finally registered :P
Well, i have tested Mongoose's utility, and works near perfect.
When you import a model in 3DSmax (boots for ex), it may have a side flipped. Import it again (having now 2 same meshes), flip this one and after setting textures both, collapse them. Now you will have a closed mesh :)
For those who want to use the models anywhere, here is a full tutorial that somebody did. It is for UT, but the basics are the same for all games

- The most useful for Mongoose now might be Skeletal bones and anim data
- Im here to help if possible :)
- That is what i have been able to do (i dont know anything about 3DS but, i advanced)
Artistic style female elf 8)

Been working the whole day to get this thing working, and finally it did.
But its a lot time consuming putting together a whole model. Finding the right texture to the model etc.
but now.... It time to play

Finally got rigging done and i can move over to animation.
I tried exporting the weapons pack but only a few of the weapons actually worked sadly. Supprisingly i found out that the a grade weapons have been in the client since c2, that i didnt know.
I wish i could get some of the c5 stuff to work tho >.<

Can you post a tutorial on how you did that amazing pic and what programs you used?
I'd love to make various pics with them. Hell, it'd be cool if we could make movies out of it.
Sure, I can even upload the scene file if you want it.
Basicly I did export the models from a backup of c2 i had,
following the instructions in the thread, linked in the second post).
(takes a while to convert the files to ive only done the dark elf female so far)
So i had a folder full of female darkelf c2 meshes with strange names.
I imported the one after another into maya, trying to find the bluewolf objects.
Once that was done, i exported the texture files for female dark elf using UTPT.
And applied the textures to the objects in Maya.
Making a rigg for posing is relativly fast, but i wanted to be able to animate it properly later on,
So Ive used now about one and a half day to set up a half decent rigg for the dark elf mesh.
(note: actually the rigg is pretty bad, and im out of practice).
I set up some different poses to test the skinning and see if the rig would work (this was one of the poses).
The light and render done with the internal mental ray for maya.
Not much to say about that..standard 3 point lights.
Post is done in photoshop, mainly adjusting color and adding sharpen filter to it.
1. the model as we know it from ingame, 2 the skeletal system i build up
3. directly out of the render, 4. after post in photoshop
[edit] fixed the tranpary issue with the wings later on, painted a costum map for it.
PS. lol, i need practice with character animation >< http://chabba.com/lin2/snap_test_Small.swf

Hooray! i actually found this program awhile back but had no idea on how to get it/use it watsoever but now i can :) but itll take me ages to learn :(. anywayz, the question is, can i make new meshes and animations and stick them into l2? or do i hav to edit the packages and recompile them? or cant i make them at all :S. thanks for that invitado and molte :)
I dont think anyone has managed to make a recomplier yet.
And as far as I know, no one has managed to export the l2 animation either, which means you dont know when the specific animations are applied to the timeline.

i queried about this to some of the people in the freyja forums before. they said that it isnt impossible, but it would be hard to do. they said that it may work if you extract everything, imposrt it into ued and save it but once again, it may not work and they havent tested it :)

Hi,
Been doing same thing as you, but every time I apply the texture in Maya I get something like this :

Mesh Smooth  x0 iterations
And you may have to unrwap to adjust the texture in the model
First time you take 3D program, eh?

I went to the thread in chatbear... I even registered BUT... where is the program to download. I mean what where they talking about in that thread.
Freija, is something that took my attention. What is it... probably a program for textures. But where do I get it?
I think I understood absolutelly nothing from that forum, maybe I missed something. I am a computer programmer and I usually spend free time altering videos taken from real life and making illusions and staff.
I really wanted to know HOW on earth I can export lineage 2 model (what files... what procedures... what 3rd party contributors etc)
...anyone willing to enlighten me a bit>?
The stuff they are talking about might not be there cause it is a year old.

Oh... I actually downloaded 3dsmax studio and licenced it but could not really make any sense on exporting any textures.
All I know about l2 is that it uses unreal engine. Damn me but I really do not know what programs would cooperate with that engine so as to have the ability to "read" the texture files.
