Patcher assumes that l2encdec is in path, or in the directory it is being run in.

Yes but, that only showed when l2encdec is removed from the system folder. When I enter l2encdec into the system folder it comes up with an error and will not transport any files. Where as when it is not in my folder the patcher will move soem files into the backup section. Now, it does not create backups, it only moves the files into the backup section. I just spent 3 hours working with the new tools given from that website: http://www.sexyracing.com/lineage/l2howto/

i have a zip file of my backuped servers I use so if I mess up I delete the system folder and bring out the other one. Now after spending about 3 hours straight on it, I figured some of what the guide meant @_@ but it is still a bit confusing.. Confusing like you left things out or jumped from chapter 1 to chater 5 type of thing. i end up rereading it butit still confuses me on some parts. I know i'm a newb, the only computer things I know is hardware and virus issues, and internet. but... nothing like creating patches or programming. I know even less in the hacking department so bear with me please -_-.

Now I went to the nud patch forum and TRIED to keep up with it.. well the instructions on http://www.sexyracing.com/lineage/l2howto/ at least... but what algorythms should I use? one of the files said I can only use 111 so I change alot to 111 and all. Ican really use further help on this. am I only supposed to mess with the system files or all of them?

L2decrypt is an old tool, you can't use it for ver 413 file

L2encdec work fine

Follow exactly this step:

1)delete your system folder
2)run "lineage2.exe" and let it check the file, when it's finish press "cancel"
3)run again "lineage2.exe" and clic the "check file" button. let it check the file, when it's finish press "cancel"
4)copy and past "patcher.exe" and "l2encdec.exe" in your system folder
5)run patcher.exe

It will 100% work ;)

I still don't see how you all get that, now mabye it will work with the original L2 system files but I am using a private server. Several of them actually and when I run the pathcer with the l2encdec in the system folder I get this:

But if I run it without I get this:

So, when I run it with it in it, it does not work at all, but without it moves a few files to the backup. It doesn't create a backup of those few files, it fully moves them. So that is why this is confusing and won't work. It's frustrating actually and i've spent days on it, my friend gave up helping me and is trying to get me to give up as well. I'm not going to, it's turned into a learning process rather than some fun time patch. O.o

If you're using L2J private server, you usually don't have to patch, as they use my rsa public/private pair.

The only exception to it is L2J-VN, that uses different key pair (you can select it with certain switch in l2encdec, but you can't automate it through patcher - so write yourself some script that will do the job).

Write some code.... your kidding me right? I don't have the faintest idea how to do that... ok I do.. I have a editor, a compiler and such and I know the basics of writing code... but I don't know nothing this in depth.. I mean... wow.. your kidding me right? lol.. right right.. well, what's L2j? is that the website everyone else was talking about and sending links to on the forums? I'll check that out. you say I won't need the patcher or the l2encdec huh.. i'll check it out. this is making me confused with my books and all. being tired doesn't help the situation. *s* well.. I'll try to figure this out. I'm at the point to where i'm about to just give up and pay the 15 a month fee.. get all those issues gone and over with.*shrugs* we'll see how things go. thanks for your help, though it would be alot easier if you wrote a walkthrough and some tools/patches for private servers.

I'm telling you to write some trival .bat file (it's like if I asked you about changing check the oil a car), if you happen to be on L2J-VN, what is rather unlikely.
